Wits Business School - University of Witwatersrand
Wits Business School is the graduate school of business
administration of the University of the Witwatersrand, one of the top tertiary
institutes in Africa.
The School offers a variety of postgraduate academic
programmes and executive education programmes as well as weekly public
seminars. Wits Business School, WBS also designs tailor-made, in-company programmes, partnering with
client organisations to develop management capacity. With a full suite of programmes on offer, WBS
delivers innovative, transformative, and immersive learning experiences using
generative thinking methodologies.
The School’s aim is to deliver leaders who can fashion the
future of Africa and raise the values-bar on how business is done on the
continent. Learning is therefore relevant to the challenges and opportunities
that we face on this continent, providing students with a deep understanding of
the complexities of doing business in Africa within a global context.
Wits Business School, WBS has an extensive Management Library, 24-hour meeting
rooms and Africa’s largest Case Study Centre, housing over 250 real-life cases
that bring relevant business challenges into the classroom.
The main campus is in Parktown in central Johannesburg, the vibrant, commercial hub of the continent. The campus offers a modern learning environment modelled around the Harvard School of Business classroom design – the classic ‘horseshoe’ format – which encourages maximum student-teacher engagement.

There are four components of the WBS MBA: Core courses, Electives, Independent study, Global study tour | Format: Two years part time, offered in three formats; Part time weekday – two evenings a week – 17:30 to 21:00 or Part time Saturday - 08:00 to 15:00. Part time – Modular format – 10 day blocks (June Intake).

The Wits Business School one-year Postgraduate Diploma in
Business Administration is for ambitious graduates who want the edge. The WBS PDBA is relevant to the challenges of
doing business in South Africa, Africa and other dynamic emerging market
economies, and covers key themes relevant to business today including
sustainability, entrepreneurial action and critical engagement.
Postgraduate Diploma in Management
The Wits Business School Postgraduate Diploma in Management
challenges you to view business and management in a new light of innovation and
creativity while preparing you for the challenges companies face on a daily
basis. Gain up-to-date business knowledge and tools and apply these to
real-life business situations as you prepare, debate and tackle business case
studies.
Postgraduate Diploma in Management in the field of Digital Business
This diploma course consists of 12 modules that will equip
you to bring digital thinking, innovation and strategies to your role. The
course provides a solid foundation for understanding digital technology and its
impact on business, and then focuses on key functions including marketing,
operations, human resources, sales and customer experience.
Postgraduate Diploma in the field of Energy Leadership
Wits Business School launched the African Energy Leadership
Centre (AELC) in 2017, the first of its kind in Africa. The AELC aims to
address the issues of energy shortages in Africa as well as the skills deficit
in an industry which is of vital importance to economic growth on the
continent.
