The Division of Humanities and Social Sciences offers a wide range of courses in Arts and Humanities leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree and Bachelor of Science degree, and to the Master of Arts degree in History and, and Master of Arts in French as at now.

The Division has a crop of highly qualified, competent, committed and highly motivated lecturers. Students benefit from an array of academic and professional skills offered at the Division and contributes to its further development.

Division of Physical and Natural Sciences Division of
Physical and Natural Sciences
Students under this Division enjoy laboratories and scientific equipment according to their course needs. Furthermore, the University of The Gambia has partnerships with other Universities such as Cheikh Anta Diep in Senegal, which allows our students to further practical experience from state-of-the-art labs.

Physical and Natural Sciences;

It is worth noting that students in this Division have a greater chance of being awarded scholarships from multiple of institutions including the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of The Gambia.
Entry Requirement for the (UTG) School of Arts and Sciences
Admission to the programmes at this School is in accordance with the requirements for entry to the University of The Gambia: Minimum of 5 credits ‘O’ level/WASSCE credits including a credit in both English and Mathematics for Senior Secondary School leavers or its equivalent.
Where a candidate does not have a credit in Mathematics, he/she must have a credit in one of the science subjects (Agricultural Science, Physics, Biology, and Chemistry).
Mature students can be admitted on the conditions that they are above 30 years of age and have 8 years of work experience. This may be subject to a Divisional Entry Test.
For the Madrassa candidates who want to major in Islamic
Studies, an equivalent of WASSCE/WAEC recognized by the General Secretariat for
Islamic and Arabic Studies (GSIAS) is needed for entry.
Tuition Fee - (UTG) School of Arts and Sciences
The annual tuition fee is GMD 34,900 and $ 3,750 for both
local and international students respectively. Other cost/fees include: (Union
fee, Development fee, Technology fee, and Library fee) D1, 200. This is payable
in two equal installments before or at the commencement of the semester.
It is worth noting that, the University of The Gambia (UTG) only allows students that pay at least 40% of the due fees to sit to examinations. These payments can be made at any of the various Trust Bank Ltd. Branches across the country. The university is notified of this payment and you’re cleared to attend classes and sit to the examinations.
