Admission Requirements for KAAF University (Engineering Programmes)
Here are the Admission Requirements for KAAF University College (Engineering Programmes). Check out the details below:
1. BSc Civil Engineering
Candidates applying to the programme must meet the following entry requirements:
a. WASSCE / SSSCE Candidates: Relevant credit passes shall
include an Arts subject, plus three(3) relevant elective subjects: Chemistry, Physics,
Elective Mathematics
b. GCE ‘A’ LEVEL Holders: The three (3) A level subjects are
Physics, Chemistry and Elective Mathematics
c. HND (Civil Engineering) Holders: Applicant must be a
graduate in Civil Engineering
2. BSc Geomatic (Geodetic) Engineering
Candidates applying to the programme must meet the following
entry requirements:
a. SSSCE Holders: Credit scores (aggregate D) or better in the
following subjects: English Language, Integrated Science, Core Mathematics,
Physics, Chemistry and Elective Mathematics.
b. WASSCE Holders: Credit scores (aggregate C6) or better in the following subjects: English Language, Integrated Science, Core Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Elective Mathematics.
c. Mature Applicants: Applicants in this category must meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least 25 years old at the time of submitting the application
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in the intended field of study
- Must have credit scores in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Additional Mathematics or Elective Mathematics
- Must pass an entrance examination or an interview
d. GCE ‘A’ LEVEL Holders: Must have GCE ‘A’ LEVEL passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
e. HND (Surveying) Holders: HND graduates with a minimum of two
(2) years of relevant experience will be placed at Level 200 of the programme.
However, applicants with 1st Class or 2nd Class Upper Division certificate and
two (2) years relevant experience may opt for a top-up.
f. Top-up for HND Holders: Candidates who hold HND certificates (1st Class or 2nd class Upper Division) in Surveying and have a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience may be admitted to Level 300 as regular students, upon successful completion of one semester bridging course.
Those work or
business schedule cannot allow them to attend as regular students may opt for
the non-regular student module. For such students, evening and/or weekend
classes will be conducted at our Accra Lecture Halls.
3. BSc Construction Technology
Candidates applying to the programme must meet the following entry requirements:
a. SSSCE Holders: Credit scores (aggregate D) or better in the
following core subjects: English Language, Integrated Science, Mathematics and;
Credit scores (aggregate D) or better in: Physics, Chemistry and Elective
Mathematics; OR Economics, Geography and Elective Mathematics; OR Technical
Drawing, Building Construction and Elective Mathematics
b. WASSCE Holders: Credit scores (aggregate C6) or better in
English Language, Integrated Science, Core Mathematics; and, Credit scores
(aggregate C6) or better in: Physics, Chemistry and Elective Mathematics; OR Economics,
Geography and Elective Mathematics; OR Technical Drawing, Building Construction
and Elective Mathematics
c. Mature Applicants: Applicants in this category must meet the
following requirements:
- Must be at least 25 years old at the time of submitting an application;
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years relevant experience in the intended field of study;
- Must have credit scores in English Language, plus Physics, Chemistry and Elective Mathematics; OR, Economics, Geography and Elective Mathematics; OR Technical Drawing, Building Construction and Elective Mathematics;

d. GCE ‘A’ LEVEL Holders: Must have GCE ‘A’ LEVEL passes in either Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; OR Economics, Geography and Elective Mathematics.
e. Construction Technician Certificate (CTC II/III): Applicants
in this category with a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience will be
placed at Level 200 of the programme.
f. HND (Civil Engineering) Holders: HND graduates with a
minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience will be placed at Level 200 of
the programme. Applicants with 1st Class or 2nd Class Upper Division
certificate and two (2) years relevant experience may opt for a top-up.
g. Top-up for HND Holders: Candidates who hold HND certificates (1st Class or 2nd Class- Upper Division) in Building Technology and have a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience may be admitted to Level 300 as regular students, upon successful completion of one semester bridging course.

4. BSc. Electrical/Electronics Engineering
Candidates applying to the programme must meet the following entry requirements:
a. WASSCE/SSCE Holders: Credit passes (A1-C6) in six (6)
subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, including English Language and
Mathematics, plus three(3) relevant elective subjects: Chemistry, Metalwork, Auto
Mechanics, Applied Electricity, Technical Drawing, Engineering Science, Electronics
with a minimum of grade C6/D, aggregate 36 or 24 respectively.
b. HND Candidates: Applicant must have graduated with a
certificate in Electrical Engineering.
5. BSc. Mechanical Engineering
Candidates applying to the programme must meet the following
entry requirements:
a. WASSCE/SSSCE: Credit Passes(A1-C6) in six (6) subjects
comprising three (3) core subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
plus three (3) relevant elective subjects: Chemistry, Metal Work, Auto
Mechanics, Applied Electricity, Technical Drawing, Engineering Science, Electronics
with a minimum of grade C6/D, aggregate 36 or 24 respectively.
b. HND Candidates: Applicant must have graduated with a
certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
c. Bridging Course: All applicants who hold HND Certificates,
CTC I, II/III and have a minimum of two years relevant working experience may
apply. Such applicants shall be placed on level 300 after successfully going
through one semester Bridging program.
